Participants then have the opportunity to contemplate the beauty of the typically Korean landscapes while passing through the surrounding rice paddies. The journey continues to the D.M.Z., the impermeable buffer zone that marks the separation between the two Koreas. Steeped in history, the D.M.Z. is also a sanctuary for the peninsula's flora and fauna, as no human has set foot in it for more than 70 years.

Upon arrival, explore the "second tunnel," secretly dug by the Northern army and discovered in 1975 by service guards. It is now completely secure and features small exhibition rooms about the war. Next is a visit to the Cheorwon Peace Observatory, which offers a panoramic view of the D.M.Z. and the early villages of North Korea. Inside is a small museum and a short film recounting the war and its impact on Cheorwon. The tour continues to the disused railroad station at Woljeong-ri (the Iron Triangle battlefield), the last stop before the barbed wire fence marking the departure of the D.M.Z. The morning concludes with an exploration of the headquarters of the Workers' Party of Korea, former stronghold of the Communist Party (under renovation until mid-2025).
